Join us for the reading group at the Red Carpet Cinema exploring both classic and modern literature. The classes are run by Sarah, an experienced teacher of English and the Red Carpet Creative Writing tutor, who will guide you through the texts in a fun and informative way. Every half term, we will focus on a different text, culminating in a screening of a film adaptation. This term we will be reading the two ground-breaking novels: Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and Alice Walker’s The Color Purple.
You will need a copy of both books, a pen and a notepad. You can choose any edition of The Color Purple, but ideally I would like you to have a copy of the Penguin Classics Wuthering Heights (with an introduction by Pauline Nestor).
Sarah has a Master's Degree in English Language, a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and has had several non-fiction works published. She has been teaching and tutoring English Language and Literature for over twenty years, including nine years’ teaching creative writing. She runs a fun, supportive, interesting group where everyone can join in - no matter how nervous you may feel about your abilities.
